Accountable Infinity However (Letters to Myself)
30 dic 2003

i am done.

Even the cat is made of sharp things.

and so this is how it is

The human condition is infinently mallable, but in the end we don't like it much.
Connections drawn:
creativity: I blame quantum theory.
druggies and christians: I blame that flawed feeling.
the bad smell in this room: I blame the dog. I am correct on this one.

We are back in the big so-so. I have my cat and that's enough.... Happy end of 2003.

this (true) story won't fall flat:

"Glen, you speak in tune! I'm sharp," said Jenny with a knowing look at the guitar tuner.

Ben, Suzie, and i were too stunned at the melody of the observation to harmonize in kind.

In any case, Merry Christmas all.

Hey Tasha!! Scandinavian party ring a bell?

Note:

My dad's girlfriend's ex-mother in law is complaining (to Heather) that the Janesville Wal*Mart is too small. SHIT. ON. WAL*MART. I still have to sleep here tonight so i'm not going to say anything. It's nice that 'say' and 'slay' are so orthographically similar. I will slay nothing tonight. AT. ALL.

My whole argument rests on the assumption that you have good spatial reasoning.

  Trisyllabic
So... Christmas? Yeah. It was... not festive. Lameo. (Lameo rhymes with Romeo, and can be inserted in any song or sonet containing the name Romeo; such as that classic from the Empire Records soundtrack, "a lovestruck Romeo, sings his song so sweetly seranade..." as AJ is dopily gazing at Corey as she's sorting CDs even thougth she's not working. What's better than Empire Records? Empire Records REMIXED. Longer, funnier, and... longer. I've seen that movie too much.)

So Christmas. We're in Milwaukee & I'm a great big liar. I'm a liar because I thought I'd have no internet access here and suddenly I do, plus lots of time to use it. Too much time. Oh that Christmas Blarrrr...

We went to a Lutheran service, complete with kids reading the Xmas story poorly. Kids are so cute. Their voices are so annoying. I love them anyway. Usually i would really have liked to have been a somewhat normal 'Christian' but the whole Xmas pagent thing only interests me as a novelty. I can rent movies if i really wanted to be in the holiday spirit.

Rachel refuses to do Christmas next year, as we only do it for the presents and Daddy-o (also rhymes with Romeo, but should not be inserted in songs from mid-nineties movies) reliably screws up the purchasing of presents. See her blog for a complete list of the follies this year. I got movies, books, a random bag, and a DVD player that may or may not work, in any case i'm not too concerned. I don't think that anyone who is obese and has internet access has cause to complain about current dearth of luxuries. I'm rollin' in it baby, but i still really want a copy of Russian Ark.

My fundamental problem with Christmas is Christianity. The whole socialize with your family and such sounds like a great idea, so i'd probably like it lots if i had the same family for three consecutive years. But Christianity: it is by definition an unbalanced religion. If you don't know what i mean, stare long and hard at that Cross. Then rotate it a bit. It puts itself intentionally above something, and that something is much more important that it ever was. Christ came to us as our Savior. Who needs a Savior? Someone who believes they are flawed. I don't think I'm flawed. I was made perfectly fine the first time and don't need to be reborn or whatnot (I made me myself!). Also I think God is way too easy a belief system and i really, really like making things hard on myself.

However, the fact that a major percentage of our population is Islam, Jewish or Christian strongly suggests that monotheism has something going for it. I must be pretty stupid as i cannot fathom what that is, though once upon a time i believed it myself.

Just a waiting game.

'i don't deserve it because i did anything wrong
i deserve it because i don't understand what i should have done
i'll have my little boat ride yet.'

well okay, i'll admit that's yesterday's news. Today:

tv and me. and my sister too, because she somehow has better taste in TV than i do.
so few fond farewells! I am not happy with many of you. But it's really just me, baby. Let's still be friends.

LOVE that waiting game.

Monty Python has a LOT of latent cat hatred. Weird. However, I still like Monty Python a lot. It really should have been named Gwen Dibbly's Flying Circus. 'Happy Thanksgiving Mum! Did you know that you have a show on? hup-hup.' And then Eddie Izzard has a cameo and it's all dandy-o. Once you get those accents, anyway.

The drunken philanthropist said, Ms. Sarah! What would you like? Whilst I was thinking of an answer, he asked Tanja what she might like. She wants a castle, so he'll buy her England. I decided i'd like a boat, so he'll buy me all the oceans. Except Megan wants a boat too, so we have to share the oceans. How sweet. Seriously. Does it occur to you that i was born spitting distance from the headwaters of the Mississippi? That's awesome. I forget sometimes just how awesome.

In any case, i'll win the waiting game one more roll.

Hmm, back to that Monty Python. And those dogs. This house is chaos, but O Nelly have i faith!

Turnaround yesterday? Talk about turnaround TODAY. However, I don't get to sleep yet.

Never in my life have i expressed a desire to own a laundry basket. Today i recieved a total of 5 laundry baskets from my parents.

I'm only a UWEC Blugold for two more tests!

I did well on the Chem test I was so worried about and went for lunch with some girls from that class. When i got back to the dorms, Rebekah & Evan were here, playing Scrabble and making up words. Then i took down all my posters and my mom helped me put junk in her car. Then on to dad's house, then back to the dorms, then stopped at Governor's hall then to Megan's then to my cousin Jack's house then back to the dorms-but wait! Sled down the hill a few times first! And no serious finals tomorroww either. Good.

Also, a word to the wise: the lunchroom trays work better than laundry baskets as sleds. And when sledding down the UWEC-bush hill, check traffic and have a safety person who preferably knows first aid at the bottom.

Today certainly had NICE turnaround.

i am AWESOME
like LYME'S DISEASE
though i cannot pronounce HYDROGEN in spanish
like i can't pronounce NECROSIS in english
or DICHOTOMY

i'd like to take this OPPURTUNITY thank my editors for DELETING all the swear words
Editor in Cheif: Jody M.
hmmmm, an easy mistype can render editor idiota. kinda.
like the SOLUTION to pollution is dilution. kinda.

So the story here is that i had to give a speech in Spanish on any subject for 5-10 minutes, and i did really BAD. BAD. BAD. If i was a _____ GANGSTA _____ (____ editors) like then it'd all be cool. Mary, will you teach me to be a ______ GANGSTA _____? Perhaps I'll get Meldahl to give me some RAP.

the best part is that i had Tori's PROFESSIONAL WIDOW song in my head all night and all morning.

"Slag pit
STAG SHIT
oh honey bring it close to my lips yeah
don't blow those BRAINS YET
we gotta be big boy
we gotta be BIG boy

I'm at Nik's&Bekah's, so it's a big movie weekend. This is what we have watched so far:

Taxi Driver
Boondock Saints

and now: Blazing Saddles.

Thanks Nik&Bekah.

drive drive tour drive drive music sleep (finally)
So Jamnesty.... i'm commentless, really. Just want to say that it's over, and that i did my part. Not the singing, or even being there, really, but my display was a ginormous hit. Whatever. Ameteur Love is a great band, and i really hope they know the etymology of "amateur", because in that case they are the coolest band ever. I love puns. If not, how fortuitous a name choice they had. Blah.

The trip was okay, just my mom talking a lot and then walking around Madison for a few minutes and then my mom talking a lot again.

Things to do:
shower
study for english final
study for geology final
finish chemistry take-home final
sleep

Things that will get done:
sleep

Remember, kids, if the results don't make sense you can always cite (your favorite) deity's interventions. As the mathematicians say, 'it's all combinatorics from here!'

Happy Human Rights Day 2002

"today 20 people died in Colombia due to the war. tomorroww 20 people will die in the war"

(*la da da da da da di da Zach and Sarah* I have a Ben Folds song in my head)

Our speaker was awesome. She probably had too thick of an accent for those not used to Colombian accents to understand, but well, i have made a study of it, due to fabulous Span 301. My head will explode iffen i think more about this today, so all i'll tell you for now is go to colombiasupport.net and keep your head about you.

We're fumigating our planet's lungs. Could we hate ourselves anymore?

And how pissed off would every American be if some South American came and sprayed Roundup Ultra (ingredients:unknown) all over Kentucky? Tobacco kills more people than cocaine every day of the week.

Everybody's favorite miserable failure, George II, isn't helping any. But Clinton ultimately gets the suckage for this one. "What we need to do is prove freedom and free trade go hand in hand." (May 1999). Prove it by giving the military money to massacre them!

I feel important 'cause when i move to Madison i may work with Cecilia Zarate-Laun. Because that's where Colombia Support's USA headquarters is. Zow-eee.

Though I'll be really, really late to Jamnesty tomorroww, i hope to see you all there!

I went to a Christmas party at Mary's house with Donna and it was awesome. It was seven million of Mary's parents' closest friends, and a crying kitty in the basement. Then we went to Racy's and collected lung cancer. Mary gave me the photos she took of me, and there's one i really like, a profile. It's awesome because my tragus peircing looks like a head piercing from the side, and i've never seen it that way before. Incidentally, trogus is Greek for "goat" or "hairy ears" but tragus is Greek (and English, yo) for that boney part of the ear. Good to know, very powerful on the Scrabble board. "Yew" is also a type of tree with only one seed.

hmm, numerically i have regressed. whatever, i'm a sophmore at least.
(Many of my AP credits don't count dingo's kidneys in Madison.)

I registered for Madison today. It's awesome, as I got all the classes I wanted except one, and that was really due to a time conflict, as well as the fact that the buildings in question are a good half mile apart. Priorities, yes.

In any case, this is what I have:

History of Science 202 (Making of Modern)
Geology 203 (Earth Materials)
Geology 204 (Geologic Evolution of the Earth)
Theatre 150 (Acting Intro)
Theatre 219 (Undergrad Topics- Science and the Arts)

18 credits, counting all labs & discussions, 8 different classes. The times are all at 9:55 or 1:15 or other oddball stuff like that. Madtown is MAD.

I have no Spanish, which will kill me. I'm going to join Spanish club, and it's possible I'll live in the Spanish house anyway, so hopefully i won't become stupid monolingual again. Because then I'd hate myself.

In the words of Donna, I'm going to "entertain rocks" all semester. And it will be awesome.

Donna, that's funny 'cause you can take the EAC anywhere! Just like my dad could take his GAS Explorer anywhere. Oh, them DMV people are so darn funny sometimes!
