"Who gives Republicans Legos anyway?! You NEVER know what they're going to do with them!"--RGE on the Lego Situation--
Well, i actually have a lot to talk about today: work updates, horrible business cards, yet another weekend away (this time because of friend of Jon's getting married), hopes and regrets (what lovely cliches!), all the good books i've been frantically reading, telling you where Donna's new blog is (something about sweet meat?), and of course, the Lego Situation. But Alas, RGE is currently invading my room and yelling loudly about something i absolutely have to see from stumbleupon or some other such internets-nonsense, and i must bid ye adieu.
"You're not smiling with YOUR EYES!" --RGE on my passport photo, which led into a long conversation between Elyse & RGE on the Many Bad Smiles of the Sarah (whereas i think i should be forgiven as not only did i have braces during those teen years, but still have crooked teeth now. i don't think i've pointed this guy out on here yet:
Worldchanging!
it's probably the best bright-green site i've found, and believe you me, i look.
In a related story, 0% of my friends know what "bright green" means. Yes, i polled them this past week. This could mean:
a) they are all living in the wrong century
b) i spend too much time reading Orion and the internets
or c) we are all, indeed, doomed.

The Masquerade was good. We had a Domino, a Republican, Marie Antoinette, Rebecca+Enid (the Ghostworld Girls), the King of the Lepers, a Sunset, the Ocean, River Tam, Johnny Knoxville (i think?), a Tourist (again, maybe??), and several not-dressed up people who for some reason didn't want to be Boris Yeltson. The winner of the night was when this Really Did Happen:
River Tam: Yeah, my dad almost went on Bill O'Reily when that scandal happened.
The Domino (or somebody?): The christians preaching on campus scandal?
River Tam: Yep. The whole thing was handled poorly--hence the scandal--but apparently some TAs at UWEC wanted to hold bible studies in their dorms.
The Republican: That's a GOOD IDEA!
Somebody: Wouldn't you want it to be compulsory?
The Republican: Did you know that I could smile before I was born!?!

So, ah, my life at Kinko's is going alright. A customer told me i looked 18, which was exciting because that hasn't happened since i was a mere 22 years of age (and i used to have a notorious baby face, dear cyber stalkers). Sundays are crazy quiet, which is nice as i actually get to go home at ten and not be stressed out for a bit there. Don't get too excited for me, though, i don't really know how to 'not be stressed out' anymore. i think it's just a permanent state at this point, so i'm working on 'calm within disaster' or something equally special and zen. i'm sure i'll let you know how that goes.

EDIT: oh! and in a fascinating continuation of last week's tagline, RGE & the Mother Unit continued the Debate of Awesome about Evolution today. Mom had that wonderful pie chart that shows 60%+ of Americans don't "Believe" in Evolution, which was supposed to prove that she's not a freak. Freak, no, but sad wrong majority? Yes. RGE responded with something equally snippy, making mom cry. i wish people who refuse to understand evolution wouldn't freak out every time somebody points out how absurd that "belief" is. You don't not believe in statistics or valence theory or osmosis do you (Glynis, don't answer that question)? Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg.

"We're talking about evolution, not babies flying through windows!"--RGE paraphrasing a debate--
So i thought i was going to take my last midterm tomorrow. i've been trying to get up early all week, and do that study thing, and not stay up too late [for me] in order to prepare for this. Today, after i had finally made it upstairs, i went through my pile of mail: last one was from UWEX, saying they had sent my test back to Madison. FREAK OUT. So i called the testing center here, just to "double check" that i'm scheduled for tomorrow at 11:oo and that they still HAVE my test, and the proctor replies i'm not on the schedule. FREAK OUT SOME MORE. She found me on the schedule for next week, though, so in my frantic rage to get this class DONE ALREADY must have written down the wrong date last time i talked to her. So all is well-i guess-but if i show up there next week and my test isn't there, somebody's going to hear about it. i don't really get why they didn't tell me that my test was here (the first time it was here) and then waited almost two months to tell me that it wasn't here--long after i had figured out it wasn't here any more and had already made it come back.
Everytime i see the word "choice" on the back of my coursebook i want to smash something. That must be so beneficial to my learning.

"Damn girl, you need a Qtip & a Tic-Tac."--Donna--
Hanging out with Donna & RGE all night; got done with work early (craziness!). Went to Angie & Andy's wedding yesterday: i really hope they like their gift. i wrapped it in the car after we reached Marshfield: an uncalculated mistake. The wedding reception had a very low Bored Count: Jon being the longest continually bored one there. But he is, as we like to fondly joke, the black hole of entertainment and such.

it's been 10 months since i last posted on here, and i still miss it.
So.
i think i'll try it again.
Just everybody: keep in mynd that everything i type here is not 100% proven, fact-checked, or de-biased. i think we'll get along just fine.
Today i am in Winona (MN). For those of you who didn't make the fun tranistion to lj & back with me, that's where Jon lives now. For grad school. Tomorrow is Angie's wedding, and we're going to that, and i have their present all done but tonight Jon still has to buy his half for it. Oh, good times.
i work at Kinko's now, live in EC (same ol' basement!), and have been spending almost every day with my sister or Donna or both. Lots of other stuff has happened, but mostly it sucked, so let's let that summary suffice.
