"It has to do with the question, not the answer...!"--Heidi to Chris at end of long, long rant during trivial pursuit--
Sadly, Team Science's two-week reign over Team Shut-the-fuck-up and that other team has come to an end. Two weeks ago the Sanctuary was without heat, so only Ian was in his right mynd towards the end of the game, and came away with an easy victory after we all not only proved that we slept through the nineties, but that so did the writers of that tp edition. This past week, even though Hestur fell asleep, Heidi won after we missed some questions about Tajikistan and I <3 Lucy, and Damian & i vowed to watch many old movies and such. Wednesday night bowling/trivial pursuit has become quite the pastime with me, i think i spend every thursday/friday recovering from it (we weren't done until 7 am this past week, later than Stacy went to work!), and rarely do i do much that is too exciting on the weekend as there doesn't seem to be any need to. Just kidding, i hang out with Ratchel, and that is awesome. Oh! She doesn't work at NYPD anymore so we (her+Katie+me) went out last Friday and it was awesome! And stuff!
Work has been terribly busy, i've pretty much been there 12 hours a day every day for the past week or so. With the combination of one of our managers moving on, one of our more-competent-people's mother's being ill/not alive anymore (which really, really sucked), and the Christmas season itself, i have been called upon to make many an executive decision lately, which is odd. i also made like 40 calendars today, so i could never possibly screw up the order of the months again. and i got yelled at by some dumb dude for not knowing off the top of my head how much as 18.5X6.68 print would be, and then when my manager was on the phone with him asking which two files he needed (as he gave us twenty, but quite clearly stated he only needed two of them), he hung up on my boss twice. Not a hard question, dude. So we gave him the oversize prints for the regular-sized price, which i think was a good lesson for us all... be a tremendous jerk, get free stuff. i mean, this guy was worse than the drunk who told me he was lost because i was a woman (no, dude, you're lost because you're drunk. Good thing we called the cops on him!). Anyway, dude with the bobber-advertisements (seriously, his company sells fishing lures), almost made me cry, and between that and the continual disaster that is my life (oh! my mom's sick again but in another more different way!), and the thirty million things that i didn't have time to do, i was pretty crabby but then my co-worker gave me a hug. It was really nice, it wasn't one of the coworkers i particularly know or anything. And well, i worked with Shane too, so that was awesome, we threw greeting cards at each other and made fun of hippies and stuff. Wait, he made fun of hippies and i looked offended. Either way it was fun. Then Bryan dragged me to the Joynt (which is the only way to get me to go out), and that was fun too. i drunkenly told some biology sophomore about how great REUs are, and i think i just may have changed her life. i wish someone had drunkenly done that for me back in the day, but i supposse that'd mean i'd never have had a Gemini sort of summer, and then never have known Bryan. So that'd suck a whole. Lot. More.
And i am so very excited for January! Neither Ratchel nor Damian are employed anymore (and both out of choice, not woeful firings), so i'm-sa going to have fun every single day. And Elyse will be in town! And Tony will be in town tomorrow! OMG!

Ian: So, when are you going to sell out so we can go on our vespa tour of Europe?
Me: As soon as i can.
