"much too young and shy"-Ani-

So i was walking down the street, thinking about my crooked foot and how i'm two degrees from Shawn Lennon in two different ways, when an old (or rather, middle-aged i guess) man stopped me to talk about health issues. Perhaps i'll take his advice, perhaps i won't.

i don't think i have ever made a decision.

from my sister's blog:
"
my frog died. i miss him. the funral be sad.... haha that reminds me, i win the award acording to rayna for the worst thing said ever. something about how she said she was going to die and i said REALLY, BECOUSE FUNRALS ARE KINDA FUN, THEY GIVE YOU FOOD!!!
it was worse when i said it, but it was a joke. note. it was a joke!
"

Somehow, dear Rachel, i'm not sure about the joke part. I'd like to take a minute to note that the last few funerals we attended did not serve food, so i want to know which funeral(s) you are referring to. On that subject, when i kick it ya'll better have a feast to keep my sister happy. With delicious chocolate fudge, Mexican hot chocolate, and vegetarian lasagna.

I have had a way too stressful week, but i think it will work out. The one thing i thought i learned last semestre was that i don't have to do everything. Problem: i still think i have to do everything. Ay. I'm not sure why i'm complaining considering i've gotten nothing done lately. Yesterday i drove around Waukesha with my mom, and then went to Angie's and watched Garden State... or rather, half of it until we got talking, but that's better. The first half of the movie was really good, and now i'm excited to see the rest. This brings us back to the funeral subject, as Sam's house reminded me a bit much of either Bekah/Glynis' or myne at various points, with the animal graveyard and all.

I feel like i am gambling. The first scene of Empire Records keeps playing my head; "you used to be pretty cute."
"you used to have nine thousand bucks."
"I wonder if Joe will hold me accountable for this?"
i want the clock to be reset every twenty minutes so i can scream like Lola and have the roulette land on twenty every time i need it. But i don't have shock-red hair or a good editing team, so i guess i'm screwed.

On that subject, i should watch less movies and give away more couches.

Or someone should give me lots and lots of money. That is all.

I love the things i find on the internet.

Look! My uncle took a picture of our lawn!

That's just so exciting.

i suppose, since i posted that link, that i should point out my uncle runs a landscaping business out of Augusta. So if anyone, for any reason, at any time, needs concrete borders for something, i'll get you the hookup. excitement.

i finally made friends with my Physics book today. i should have done that earlier. This semestre is so far much less fun than it should be.

chewing the chaos bullet

I am supposed to be in Illinois right now, and though i know that does not sound exciting at all i was very much looking forward to going. The con got cancelled due to inclimate midwest weather, and i am MAD. Okay, not really outright angry, but just mildly upset. It seems every time i plan to do something fun it doesn't come through, until i never plan anything at all and wonder why the *hippest* city in Wisconsin is so boring. I want to be back home, 'cause i miss all my friends and all their crazy drama, and i achieved none of my illustrious goals for over winter break. I like my classes, however i may have to change them around due to time restraints and such. It's frusterating, as this triple u has every exciting class EVER and only the most insane person alive would be able to do half of them. I'm vying for the position of second-or-third most insane person alive. The class i'm thinking of dropping i could take next spring instead, but that means that if i don't get to study abroad next fall i wouldn't be able to graduate after next fall either, while if i bite the chaos bullet and do it all now i could easily graduate after next fall if i don't get to go anywhere, and THUS go to Canada a bit earlier. If i drop that class, there is of course another that i would switch into, that though unequally fascinating would also apply to my major and thus be leverage power should i decide to talk my way into graduating early shy of a technical requirement. I don't think that would happen, but then again i'm counting on studying abroad next fall, and will probably damage something big if that doesn't happen. Something really, really big. Real big. God, i'm a bit uppity these days. Hm, chewing the choas bullet has more alliterative power, but in the context i doubt the reference would be clear.

On another subject, i really like my new place. My roommate, Holly, is from some small town in this area and is really nice. She's a Pharmacy major and pretty much the average Wisconsin schoolgirl. Our flatmate, Faye, is from Seattle and in some ways is the stereotypical Washingtonite, i.e. she works in a coffee-shop and weighs the features of snow vs. rain in our daily lives. She is also hard-core on the Crew team. Uncle Bucky bought her an Ipod, and it was the cause of great excitement. Both of them watch a lot of TV, and i think i've seen more TV this week than cumulatively in the last two years of my life.

Our place is awesome, in its average student-ghetto way, though my mother managed to fluster me a-plenty by buying a fire alarm, fire extinguisther, and another flashlight, all for safety's sake. I have come to believe that any person who has worked in any medical/safety/insurance field should not be allowed to have children, as these people are always anxious about something insignificant, and their children are always annoyed. In my case more likely to do stupid things, just to prove the former EMT/paramedics/CNAs/nurses wrong. I think i'll go play with my gas stove now.

In good news, Ani comes out with a new album this week! It's so pretty, and i know 'cause i saw her perform some of the new songs already. i'm happy again!

For those of you "not in the know," Uncle Bucky is our fond name for the school mascot, Bucky Badger. Yeah, go Reds... all over.

I'm back in Madison. After sleeping right through church yesterday, Ben angrily called me and then immediately forgave me, as such a nice guy is wont to do. Ben, Rachel R. & i went to the third-best coffee shop in EC, namely the Coffee Grounds, where you can't smoke but the sweet lady working there gave Rachel a free cookie and mocha, and we talked about many disgusting things. I amazingly finished packing by the time Mom arrived in the big city to drive me here, got to tie in Trivial Pursuit against my dad, and had a bit of chatty time with Donna, which was marvellous after our joint quarentines all last week due to The Sickness. So it was a good day, and oddly enough i still haven't talked to either of my roommates while both parties were awake.

I want my voice back, as it's too cold to walk to anyone's apartments here, but i don't want to call anyone sounding like a ninety year old. Food soon, school soon, and such.

"I like chess because it's a game where you collect the bodies of your enemy."--Rachel R.--

O, Racy's is closed. For reals, they're switching management and taking two weeks off. As i leave on Sunday, this affects me very little, but it is still sad. My-sister-Rachel again challenged Ben T. to chess today, and sadly lost, as he has learned his lesson for playing her, and i sat around for hours and did just about nothing other than drink double lattes. That sounds so fancy, but truth be known i only had lattes today as Racy's ran out of Chai, and a person can only have so much hot chocalate. I should know. My diet consists of nothing else. I really want to eat. Rachels and i are in the computre lab, the Rachels do not want to eat as bad as i do and this is very sad. Let's go eat. Yum yum.

"Well, I'm a stroke-victim-bear!"--Justin--

Sometimes i really have to stop and ask, how many times in one day must nose arthritis come up?

Now really.

Racy's again, and O, they're about to pull a Rocky's on us. So sad, too bad, and it's too cold out to do anything else. Aight.

Rachel R., Ben, Evan, Rachel-my-sister and i had a sick party yesterday and watched Reservoir Dogs and the Buffy movie. I am very happy Joss Whedon changed many things about Buffy's superpowers/backround for the TV show, as the only thing redeeming the movie was the ongoing death of PeeWee Herman and the line: "They were pale, blood-sucking and careless. They attacked our prom. I think they were a bunch of Young Republicans." [get it? they were poorly cged Vamps!]

I am also very happy none of us are coughing up blood anymore, but oddly my sickness makes it impossible to laugh vigourously. I should really go home now. Sleep.

"raise what's left of the flag for me"--flogging molly--

A pretty boring day, all in all. Everyone who attended my ultimate pillow party last week is quite sick, and between car issues and the cold recreation opportunities are limited. What day of the week is it? Really, now, sarah. A year ago at this time i was in the Bahamas, on the Sailing Vessel Dennis Sullivan. That would be nice to be there again. Other than the extreme boringness of today, all is well, i'm reading a good book or three and i'm not too anxious about next semester. Until i get angry about something else, adieu. Don't cough up all your lungs, my friends. i will more throughly disinfect my house next time, promise.

Though this poem was total crap
slap an A upon my lap

--from BTP by Bryan--

Hmmm. Busy busy busy, but mostly only with good things. After cleaning my white-trash-o-rific house for four hours yesterday, Ben & Jenny helped me get dressed. It was difficult, with my one outing-worthy outfit in the dryer, but we succeeded and ate at Acoustic. Then Ben & i sat around Racy's for many hours, which fed his ongoing attempt to spend a whole day there. He succeeded in this. Rachel, Evan, Bryan, Justin, Dave of Fanboy Fame, Arian, Sarah I. and Megan joined at intervals, and i forsook a bar night to watch Shaun of the Dead with Evan, Rachel & Ben. Then i slept. On the stank-couch where Rachel's cell phone has been for over six months now.

kimmy! and her chillens have NOT LEFT YET. Apparently they are moving tommorroww at 3. Joys abound. i will kill all. Everything. So i'm at Racy's again, with Rachel & Bryan, and Elyse and Bekah are coming, perhaps to scheme or perhaps to find adventure. Or perhaps to take take take Bryan away.

I wish it wasn't so cold out.

In the interest of science, of course.

"There's nothing wrong with lepers" -Glynis-
"Yeah, except for the leprosy" -Bekah-

Sometimes i wonder why i even bother going to college. I learn so much more hanging out with all my dropout friends. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but then again i cannot recall talking about Kurdistan, the merits of dead puppy factories, and the filmographic history of buses in one day back in Madison.

I am secretly using my dad's girlfriend's computer today, hiding in their room and hoping no one comes home before i finish the exactly two things i ever need to do on the internet. For anyone who cares, my hand is all better and i can type again, but here at home i have no access to computers on any sort of regular basis. This is a huge problem as i need to start applying for summer jobs this last week, but other than my continually-screwed finances/curriculum vitae i'm not too worried.

Um de da... kimmy! and co. haven't moved out yet, and apparently there's some talk of pushing moving day back to Saturday. What a bunch of bitches, screwing up my social life. In more practical matters, i haven't been able to unpack yet, as there is no physical room in this huge house for me to move my boxes to and sort through them. I have been wearing the same two outfits for at least three weeks now, not that i personally mynd that much, but i am pretty sure i own other clothes somewhere. Facts like that are lingering somewhere in my memory.

My dad sold Akira the other day. My car, you know, Akira. It's all gone. I drove that thing for five years and only crashed it... oh, a half dozen times. Depends how you're counting, i guess. In the logical sphere i realize the car was a goner, and i am usually too lazy to jump it when it's cold out, but it really is inconvient to not have my own car when my sister is at school. She should really get home now, she was done with school an hour ago. More importantly, i really miss my car. I did everything in that car for years, and when i cleaned it out i found various objects such as $23 in nickels, MaryBeth's diary (sophomore year of HIGHSCHOOL), several air-fresheners shaped like Garfield, a rock with the word "HOPE" written on it, a can of beans with a Budweiser's lable, a can of spray-adhesive, about 14 water bottles, my freshman-year photography project, and literal gallons of dust. The stickers wouldn't come off the car, so those bitches who bought it better have some appreciation for Wales, Ani, StarTrek, and Paramedics. Damn, i'll shut up about the car now, it's making me sad.

AND OH!!!!! Rachel is home!!
