white noise
does not even begin to describe this.
Back when i wasunemployed working at various printing factories, two things i fantasized my dream geo job would consist of were:
--knowing, month-to-month, where i would be
--no background noise
Which is pretty funny in retrospect.
Mudlogging, however, does fulfill most of the other job fantasies:
--geo experience
--getting paid more than monthly expenses
--not being condescended to in literally every conversation
So it's all good & i shouldn't complain. This well should be done in a few days anyway, and the first 8 nights were great.
This is definitely adding a whole new layer of understanding to Harrison Bergeron.
Also, while looking for that Vonnegut story, i also found One Sentence Stories online, entertaining; but not quite as great as the classic world's shortest sci-fi story. ¶ 00:42 0 comments

alarm ack (notable but not the greatest)
March 2009...
i suppose the good thing about traveling so much is that i do get to make decisions over who i will see and who i won't. i do have a lot of friends; the real question is are enough of them the kind of people i actually want around. Of course, N06-08 proved in a very real way who my true friends are, but even after all that i still give the benefit of the doubt to people who don't deserve it again and again. It's like everyone believes there's some sort of fucking magic that happens: *glitter glitter air shimmers* when sarah leaves eau claire she no longer exists *glitter glitter* Which is just--i almost hate to make this point it's so obvious--not true. [Furthermore, it's the future!. Cell phones, email, aim, skype, we really do have everything. RGE & i text photos, for crissakes, it's like magic. Real magic, actually-exists-magic. ]
Always arriving is always leaving is beginning to feel like a form of never being anywhere.
