I am on spring break, and it is a glorious glorious thing. I had these great plans of reading twenty thousand books, but I have already given up on that. I'm half done with one, and it's a novel so it doesn't count.
I went to church today (UU, it was wonderful) and chatted it up with the youth group. Walked with my sister & BethAnne (she knows everybody I do: JeShus!) around downtown and then with my sister and Jessi (my puppy) around Sherman Creek. One of the log bridges right in the park got washed away and Rachel & I had to bravely forge the great river. I didn't even get my shorts wet. Odd that that creek is bigger than the Rio Grande even on low days, nevermind flood stage... Jessi had real panic when she couldn't climb the banks. Then Kim wouldn't let her soggy self in the house, and she and Max (stray dog that likes our driveway) pouted.
Spent the afternoon with Lauren, who as her soph friend said is a 'four year old with the maturity of a senior' or something along those lines. I enjoy high schoolers who think the epitomes of maturity are seniors. (not that my drunken classmates could compare...) But Lauren has a torso, and many other cool things (wait, wait: who am I? rhymes with Leigal! .... that can't possibly be a banana, it must be: The Goblin. yes! (speaking of which, we should name him. Howabouts Reigal? because he had no torso, just tap tap tap?)) And she showed me some crazy fishbar movies, which if my computer was not weak I would still be enjoying now.
But my computer is very, very weak...
I've decided that 'to lauren' means to blow air into someone's nose. (no, you really don't want to know how this conclusion was reached) The only way I could possibly think to legitimatly use this verb in a sentence was something like this:
person A: I've got to lauren you.
person B: why?
A: because my new breath freshoner is absolutely marvellous, and you absolutely must smell it!
B: please then!
A: right oh! (laurens B)
I for some reason imagined that entire conversation spoken in an English accent (humprey humprey humprey... dear meriwether!)
I really like using people's names as verbs, thougth the only ones to ever have stuck are 'to sarah' (me sarah) means to trip over something large and clearly labled, or to crash one's car several times in one summer, or to destroy electronics with your personal bubble. 'To chris' I suppose just means to spontaneously deplete batteries. 'To blake' of course means to accidently theive many things, or to futz around with your host's bric-a-brac unawares.
Me: bye bye everybody! see you later!
Blake: Wait... what are you doing with that?
Me: With what?
Blake: That
Me: (notices stuffed hippo in hands) dunno... i didn't realize I was holding it...
