Three couches, two cops, and me
or
At least I had a better week than Micheal Jackson
I gave Arian & Tim the wrong couch for their apartment, and as you can guess my dad was slightly irritated. But rather than demanding I get the couch back, he demanded I immediately get rid of the couch I was supposed to give away. So the boys are working on getting a truck again...
I also got pulled over twice this week for my registration being expired. I got a ticket the second time, I'm more than slightly irritated. Money money money. The thing that made me mad about it, though, was Arian was in the car and the officer asked his for ID too. Do they have a right to do that? Arian did nothing wrong. It was my crappy driving that got the cop's attention and my expired plates that got us pulled over. I think that the only reason Arian got carded is he's a rather scruffy looking young man. A bad, bad man.
Anyway, I got to work almost in tears. I sometimes take rude cops/money woes way too seriously. But Glen & Bekah were there, so we chatted for a bit, and then later Nik told me about MJ's very bad week. Something about voodoo and trying to kill some director. God it was funny. Micheal Jackson is so cool, it almost makes me wish I had been aware of pop culture in the 80s. Almost.
The third couch is the new one that Kim bought. Dad doesn't know if he really likes it. I never knew old people, much less cool old people like me pops, could take furniture so seriously. But the phrase "russian couch roulette" did surface from that conversation. ¶ 13:40
