"now watch this drive"
i finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11 today~it's good, go see it. I wasn't overly impressed with the movie itself, which is to say it was exactly what i expected and not much more. The whole house of Saud/house of Bush thing shouldn't be such a surprise to everyone; it's just one of those things you should have learned had you been paying attention. I agreed all along that the war was a real bad idea and that innocent people would die if we went into Iraq, and the emotion from the women whose children had died that he interviewed proved that just enough. it's a hard thing to watch, because as that women said, the order's all mixed up. Parents aren't supposed to bury their children, but because of this administration many families have to.
In any case you really ought to see this movie. If somehow you've missed all events since first hour sep. 11 senior year, this is a crash course in how screwed up our State is. Micheal Moore is one smart cookie, who like Jon Stewart doesn't really have to try to make fun of the Prez (i.e., Bush does that well enough himself without encouragment or punchlines) but does it anyway, just to make sure the whole crowd gets it.
The crowd applauded afterwards, and i left feeling differently than i usually do after a movie at Carmike: not stupid. One of my friends said the movie made her want to commit suicide, and i didn't really know how to take it. She's conservative, but we really haven't talked politics in a good long while so i have little idea where she actually stands on anything. So, even with the selfdeath reference the movie made her feel something, but i expected it to be even moreso obnoxious MM. It's not over the top at all. The sad thing for conspiracy theorists these days is that their job is too easy.
MM could have yodeled a bit more to me, but in this case i am the choir.
Oh! and the soundtrack is excellent. Neil Young! Indeed. Anthem on, sugar.
"there's a lot of people saying I'd be better off dead"
p.s. if you caught the micheal feldon reference, you're my hero.
