it's goin' around
Johari thing
[edit:]
And Nohari thing
You know what's funny? Explaining johari/nohari things to those without an internet psuedoself, or indeed any connection to online-ness at all. ("it's a... group perception personality test." "Yeah... but why?")
and now! a return to everybody's favorite feature of arvesse.blogspot.com! The non-sequitor of the day typed from my daily conversations!
*cue glittery music and women wearing weird swimsuits!*
"I am the global warming of heaven! Correlation but no causation--they can't prove a thing nor will they let me in."--Incognito-- ¶ 22:00

i find it kind of sad that it took the internet to propel a psychological model that's been around for 50 some years into pop culture.
god bless the potential for anonymity that the internet provides. nohari windows get substantially more vicious when you're not sitting in the same group therapy session with the person you're dissecting.
give people a chance to be hideous to each other--- they'll eat it up with a spoon.

do psychological models need to be in pop culture??
i mean, they're interesting, but as for usefulness?

i guess i misspoke.
psychological models DON'T need to be a part of pop culture. i just think it's sad that our web-obsessed generation appropriated it for such a useless purpose.
because, in the right setting... it really can be useful. in group or family therapy... it can do wonders to increase people's awareness of their behavior and how it may clash with their self-perceived identity.
but put it on the internet, and it pretty much loses all credibility.
not to say that i'm AGAINST it or anything... hell... i put the link on my blog too. i just think it's funny how the world works.
