secretaries take notes

Our house is a frickin' zoo. With Robin's arrival, three children, a mutt, and two new cats have arrived. The cats are hypothetically outdoor cats (the un-feasibility of that apparently hasn't been explained to the former country residents), though one got into the house a few days ago. The little orange one to be specific. She's been hiding in the basement since then, and dad tried to bribe RGE & i a dollar (a frickin' dollar) to catch her and return her to whence she came. Since neither of us jumped on that impressive bid, dad today tow're up RGE's room up in a loud, vain attempt to catch the kitten. To no avail: Robin caught her an hour later with the simple promise of food and no more molestation. She apparently had a broken blood vessel & unevenly dilated pupils by the time she was caught... i'd be afraid of my dad too if i were a six-inch-tall fugitive. Shit, yo.

Also on zoo themes here-abounding: the five-year-old wakes me up every day, and then demands that i join him at a rousing game of mousetrap every night. There is always at least 2 radios and a TV on, and this lil' laptop is queued solid all night long. Our driveway is once again totally white trash: there are no less than five beaters in it as the garage is full of Robin's furniture from her last house. But the new people bring good things too: i can finally fucking eat food in my own damn house: yes, that's right, i buy food and it's still mostly there two meals later to continue to consume. And Robin doesn't care if i eat some of her food. She's like a mythological goddess, no?

And those five beaters? One of them is myne! i bought Nik's old Saturn (or to be technical, the Weitzs' old Saturn)!! It is totally a beater--though it doesn't quite have duct tape handles, one door doesn't shut reliably, it make atrocious noises when i turn right, burns oil, has "weather" spots (??), doesn't like going 35+ mph, and only starts 3/5ths of the time. Other than that? It's a god among men, as it's the only car in my price range. And it conveniently came with a lifetime "If Nik can fix it, it will be fixed for a cigarette" insurance policy. If that's not a great deal, i don't know what is.

So right now i have three days off, and am using them to do all the boring errands i couldn't do before i had the car: returning library books, taking Damian to Alltell for a cellphone, going for food exactly when i feel like it, donating plasma, taking shit to goodwill (yes, i am still cleaning up after dad's last ex); and the few random errands cars create; oil changes and (hopefully) procuring insurance (the kind legally recognized/required in WI) and so on. It's like the best thing ever after six months in EC without hope of leaving this hellhole: somebody calls me? i can join them! yes!

i'm so close to being done with my class i can taste it. i've turned in all 12 assignments, and got As on 11 of them. One i got a B on one... but you know, shit happens. One is still en route back to me, but the day i get that sucker i am signing up for the final. i'm going to be so ecstatic to take that final i won't even get pissed off if the proctor thinks i'm cheating because i put my license back into my back pocket right after showing it to her (people are dumb). Yeah! Not a dropout anymore! Jon can eat cake again!

ECUUYA Group update: i completely shelved that idea since my last post on the topic, mostly because it was unfeasible for me to be in charge of such a thing in my ongoing emotional disaster-state. BUT! But! The other day (like two weeks ago, that is) at work, Mr. Moore totally came in & we chatted UU-stuff for awhile; apparently my inclination that an adult hereabouts recently tried to coordinate such a thing was correct! Once church starts again (in merely a week!) we're totally going to get this off the ground. Should we host a con? i think so! a retreat? why not! i totally had worship themes floating through my head all day, and this subject is totally exciting enough to use words like "totally" repeatedly and not be silly. You should believe me on that one. Anyway, if anyone's interested, let me know, and i'll develop a roster or something. Yes.

Also, i got a $2 raise at work. Because i am that good. Here ends the good news: i won't go into the details of still being unable to pay off any significant portion of my student loan, Jon getting fired, people being putzes, and so on, because that's depressing. And i should, like, do that less before i give myself a heart attack.
