good, wholesome, gone
i took a spring break to get some stuff done, apply for jobs, clean, and see people i don't normally see.
None of which have i done.
i have, instead:
--gotten an interview offer for a geophysicist job in the cities
--made really bad concept art for Nik's new bar
--spent parts of at least three nights at Nik's new bar
--lodged two darts in the cieling of Nik's bar
--practically puked from sampling concoctions at Nik's bar
--asked Nik to build me a computer already and transport mom's vanity to Stanley for me
--gotten Ratchel's Jason to build a computer for me
--gotten Justin to drive mom's vanity to her in Stanley
--found a really kitsch Burt Reynolds (?) poster from 1973 at Don Smith Sales in Stanley & presented it to Nik as Bad 70s Concept Art
--found out Jon has a new girlfriend
--made awkward conversational decisions as a result
--apparently had really great hair on Wendesday
--got interview pants on Monday
--made beautiful sample stencil sets for Joe's Sarah on Tuesday
--gave Sarah said stencils and spent a quiet afternoon with her
--watched Adam, Damian, Joe and Joe's brother Jim play basketball at a park overlooking a river with Sarah and thought that it was totally One Tree Hill
--watched way too much One Tree Hill, How I Met Your Mother, and Weeds with RGE
--made lasagna with Ratchel
--oh, and threw that RockStar party! Which ended in my favoritest two (gay) boys helping me with my hair!
--acquired and de-acquired dreads
--failed to post the attempted Ani photos that i got dreads for
--cleaned out my closet at dad's house cause he's in Colorado with grandma
--and more stuff i'm sure
But mostly i sat around my house, listlessly, waiting for something to happen or for a 651 or 608 to call me back, waiting for the rain to stop, waiting for the novels i'm reading to become as good as the reviewers said they were (i haven't even had the patience for nonfiction this week). i feel so old and it's really not funny anymore. When did funny stop? When did i start waking up upset every day (and when will it end)?
i mean, i loved the odd never-ending party Wendesday at Nik's was (cookout: Heidi brought Blake & Ian; John, Lauren, and Kirk showed up on their own, and of course all the DAMN boys were there and my sister came for awhile, and Shane, always Shane these days) and how it seamlessly morphed into Thursday's failing shooting trip (rain, endless rain), but the anxiety of no-progress/no-purpose wears at me even when i know i'm cute, gonna get a job soon, and should be having fun.
