the fate of such things
Travel: messssssssssssssssssssssssssssed up! i am super stressed out about being stranded somewhere completely random and broke and bored and being mugged at four a.m.! And i really don't like E-tickets! BAH!
But, on the bright side, i technically do have my (E-)ticket and my hotel reservation (at the Crystal City Radisson), and my ride to Seattle in the first place (Brenda! obvious choice!), and i'm going to metro it around that place tomorrow and Monday and meet Julie at some point Monday. But seriously, how can i really believe my E-ticket confers upon me rights to fly across the country? Huh?
Anyway! i'm hella excited.
If i get this job my life will change, change all for the better. i'm not even sure what i'll do with myself, really. Working in renewable energy? On interesting geologic problems? Sounds like something i would love. LOVE. For the government? For whoever is doing it, really, and the government's probably the only entity that can pull off the crazy logistics/engineering feat that getting EGS going will be. So, so, so very excited. This could be it, yo.
On the other hand, i am nervous about the interview: my first real interview, and i'm sure i'm going to be asked questions about things i haven't thought about in years... literally years. i've been doing my research, i pretty much know all that google can tell me on the subject (EGS), and i certainly did my work back in school, and at my real-person jobs back in the day. At this point i just have to hope/believe that's enough.
i'm going to spend Monday at the Smithsonian without my five-year-old sister, and take lots of pictures at that pool thing and in front of Lincoln.
And other than my absolute 'shit traveling is chaos! frenzy!', so many exciting things are happening right now! My bosses at San Juan threw a spontaneous 'Sarah will save the world with renewable energy!' party yesterday, which was fabulous and lovely. And! i found moneys that i was given as a present forever ago in my bag today, that was lovely too! And i spent most of the day actually-out-and-doing-things with Adam/Heidi/Brenda, because it's Adam's last day here, and i (briefly) talked to Elyse (who's now back in the states yay!). And! Brenda is going to Bumbershoot, which will be fun! And! When i get back, i'm spending a day with the lovely Sam! OMG!
i also, partly, want to get this job just so i can finally tell people what i do with a straight face again. That would be really, really nice.
